Stryper: Murder By Pride: Cover Contest Entries
Whew! Did I make it on time?
Well, the deadline is now passed. Of course it was down to the wire and there were some issues. I was working until the last nano-second. I was stressing big time. The first go, I emailed the files at 14 megs!, then I resaved them at a lower compression and tried resending them, all the while looking at the clock. If Jack Bauer was me, the U.S.A would’ve been destroyed. Of course the web-mail started acting wonkey. I had to shut it down. Then I sent them from my work account, but one of the files bounced back. Argghhhh! I then got back on the web-mail and resent them, all the while feeling sorry for the girl on the other end. Her mail box was probably full of my emails and choking on them. I hope they like them. I think they are some of my best pieces so far, and if anything I can use them in something else. Well, here they are:
This was one of the first ideas. Here is just the artwork:
Here is it with the logo:
This next one took a looooooong time to work on. It also features my lovely wife (or at least part of her) as “Eve”. This is just the artwork:

“EVE” WHEN I FIRST SAW THIS, I THOUGHT… YES!!! THEY DID IT AGAIN!!!
IT’S VALUE IS RIGHT UP THERE WITH “TO HELL WITH DEVIL” (ORIGINAL ART). YOUR STYLE AND VISION FOR THIS PROJECT SHOWS YOUR NOT ONLY A TALENTED ARTIST, BUT A MAN WHO CAN CAPTURE THE CONCEPT AND CREATE A FINISHED PIECE THAT MADE ME SAY “WOW!”

“EVE” WHEN I FIRST SAW THIS I THOUGHT…
“YES! THEY DID IT AGAIN!”
THIS HAS THE SAME VALUE AS THE ORIGINAL ARTWORK FOR “TO HELL WITH THE DEVIL” AND THE TIMING FOR IT IS PERFECT, THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR. I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT WASN’T USED. THIS ARTWORK SHOWS THAT NOT ONLY ARE YOU A VERY TALENTED ARTIST, BUT SOMEOME WHO CAN TAKE A CONCEPT AND PRODUCE A FINISHED PIECE THAT MADE ME SAY “WOW!”
THEY CAN STILL USE IT. IT HAS BEEN KNOWN FOR BANDS TO USE MORE THAN ONE STYLE ART FOR THE SAME PROJECT.

Thanks for the comments. It was fun creating it, and I think the piece that won worked out fine. In a week they are going to be playing here in Atlanta. We are going to a meet and greet before the show, and I hope to be able to get them to sign my pieces. I’m going to be uploading some new artwork soon.
